Part of being involved with Wish Granters is when you lose a person who has already had their Wish. It's hard, but you know a Wish has happened, and you know the family has that memory. But the worse part is when you lose someone before the Wish happens. Sometimes it just happens much quicker than anyone expected. I just learned we lost Lawrence to Cancer before his Wish happened. We were working on it, in fact the person who was helping us with it was going back out there Monday to finalize what had to be done.

If you know of someone with a terminal illness who should have a Wish, don't wait to call us, give us as much time as possible. But it's also important for us to have the funds in the bank to do the Wish. His Wish had been a wood shed, which was completed in June. His wife had passed away just a few days before he did. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families. At this point we have two Wishes that will happen in November and at least two more in December. He is out of state with his mother who is also very ill. Earlier this week we learned that David was put on the transplant list, which is great news. His Wish had been a trip to New York City with his wife. Today we found out that Larry had passed away, his Wish had been a roll in shower. Both of those Wishes happened in July. It's sad when you lose someone, but it is a little easier if their Dream had come true. It means memories for their families that they wouldn't have had otherwise. We just have to keep going and raise as much money as possible to do as many Wishes as possible. We can only do what we can do, but I have this drive to do a little bit more each day.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Larry's family. Check out our web site at http://www.wishgranters.org/ to see the Wishes we are working on.Doughttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08797489908662090008noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8649065979663179699.post-51408951698255612742011-10-27T12:27:00.000-07:002011-10-27T12:27:47.130-07:00Wish GrantersHi all: Actually I don't know if there is anyone out there or not :o) Wish Granters is 501(c)(3) non-profit that grants Wishes to adults 18 and older in the Boise Idaho area who have terminal illnesses. We come into the lives of these individuals and give them something to look forward to, something to hold on to. We also give their families a memory they can have forever. You can learn more about us by going to http://www.wishgranters.org/.

I am the founder and Executive Director of Wish Granters and will try to keep you up to date on Wishes completed and those we are working on. We hope you will want to get involved in helping these Wishes come true. If you live in the Boise area you can become a volunteer, but you don't have to live here to make a donation on our web site, which is our biggest need. Please go to our web site where you can see a list of Wishes we have completed this year and those we are working on.

The reason we were formed was that not enough was being done for adults with terminal illnesses and their families. Through Wish Granters you truly can make a difference in the lives of people you may never know. Yes, even in today's world one person can make a difference.

I look forward to hearing from you as we move forward.
